TCS partners with Anthropic to launch dedicated AI business unit, scale Claude adoption
The partnership is aimed at helping organisations move AI initiatives beyond pilot projects by combining Claude’s capabilities with TCS’s governance, implementation and industry expertise.Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday announced a global strategic partnership with Anthropic to help enterprises scale AI adoption, with plans to establish a dedicated business unit focused on delivering industry-specific AI solutions and services built on Anthropic’s Claude models.As part of the partnership, TCS will gain early access to the Claude family of models and, as a Global Premier Partner in the Claude Partner Network, will work with Anthropic to support enterprise AI deployments across regulated industries.The partnership is aimed at helping organisations move AI initiatives beyond pilot projects by combining Claude’s capabilities with TCS’s governance, implementation and industry expertise, the company said.TCS will provide Claude access to 50,000 associates across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales functions through enterprise-wide licensing.
The company said internal deployment of Claude will help transform its own operations while generating insights that can be applied to customer engagements.The partnership will focus on joint go-to-market offerings across sectors, including financial services, public services, life sciences, healthcare, aviation, telecom and medtech.
TCS and Anthropic also plan to co-develop AI solutions for domain-specific workflows, modernisation initiatives and customer experience transformation.“By combining Anthropic’s capabilities with Tata Group’s scale, trusted relationships, and nation-building commitment, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in the AI era,” said N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons.The collaboration will extend to TCS products and platforms.
In the UK, Diligenta, TCS’s FCA-regulated life and pensions business serving more than 22 million customers, will use Claude to transform agentic processes to improve the customer experience.
TCS said its BFSI products and platforms teams will also use Claude Code to enhance productivity in software engineering and IT operations.“We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most.
This partnership deepens our commitment to India, our second-largest market, with TCS bringing Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally, including 50,000 of its employees,” said Dario Amodei, Co-founder and CEO of Anthropic.The company said it also plans to contribute domain-specific capabilities to the Claude Code ecosystem through reusable skills and plugins, including claims adjudication and lending advisory functions.The company added that TCS iON, which conducts more than 75 million assessments annually across 1,500 cities in India, will introduce learning and certification programmes focused on Claude models to support AI workforce development.
