Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to join Nvidia, OpenAI chiefs at Trump-Xi dinner: Report

Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft.Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is set to attend a White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 24, joining executives from some of the world’s biggest technology companies, Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the planning.Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook is also expected to attend, alongside Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, according to the report.The dinner is expected to bring together some of the technology industry’s most influential executives amid a growing debate over artificial intelligence (AI) and how the technology should be regulated.Technology industry leaders have been at odds since last week, when Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for an industry-wide slowdown in AI development, citing risks including large-scale cyberattacks.The Trump administration has opposed calls for additional AI regulation or a slowdown in AI development in the US, arguing that such a move could give China an advantage, Bloomberg reported.China has also criticised Amodei’s comments, describing them as “fearmongering”.
